ABOUT JONAH
unexpected, and totally familiar
As an audience member, I look for stories that catch me off guard. That go somewhere unexpected - with humor, emotion, or humanity.
And that each step feels so honest that I never question the journey. Storytelling that’s instantly familiar, while going against trend, all at once.
Unexpected, and totally familiar. That is what connects with me as a viewer. And what I aim to create as a filmmaker.
- Jonah
The Ingram family has four generations of shoe cobblers. Jonah ventured from the family business to become a filmmaker.
He still loves the smell of leather though.
Jonah Ingram is a commercial director represented by Nametag.
He is known for capturing unexpectedly raw emotion, arresting visuals, and honest performances in highly shareable, multiple-watchable stories.
By starting out in directing documentaries, Jonah developed an ability to guide real people and non-actors through emotionally challenging scenarios. His work now resides in a unique place between three realms of human drama, cinematic imagery, and true-to-life humorous performance.
He often speaks in metaphor and occasionally provides direction through improvised country lyrics. As an editor, he uses an intuitive sense of pacing and coverage to efficiently film each scene.
Jonah has teamed up with Disney, 20th Century Fox, Universal, BET, Olympics, Under Armour, Red Bull and has worked with talents of Chris Evans, Pharrell Williams, Pusha T, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Zac Efron, Michael Phelps, and Shaq.
